Research from Auckland University has found that rural students had a 15% lower University Entrance rate, creating barriers for them to get into medicine. \xa0

Paper lead Author Kyle Eggleton says it's due to fewer resources and higher socioeconomic depravation.\xa0

He said that in urban areas you\u2019re more likely to have single-sex schools and private schools, and they tend to be less deprived, which leads to better outcomes.\xa0
