Justin Tighe-Umbers: National Road Carriers Association CEO on the introduction of Roads of Regional Significance programme
Road carriers are pleased the spotlight's being shone on regional roads. \xa0
Transport Minister Simeon Brown's announced plans for a new Roads of Regional Significance programme alongside the already established Roads of National Significance.\xa0
He says it will single out projects of priority to fund first.\xa0
It'll replace the former government's NZ Upgrade Programme.\xa0
National Road Carriers Association Chief Executive Justin Tighe-Umbers told Mike Hosking that this announcement will be welcomed by freight operators. \xa0
He says it's especially pleasing because regional roads are often overlooked.\xa0
