Reassurance we can trust airline crews to follow Covid-19 safety restrictions.
That's the message from the Board of Airline Representatives New Zealand.
It's Executive Director claims airline crews follow stringent protocol while overseas.
Justin Tighe-Umbers told Mike Hosking they wear masks and transit straight from the airport to a hotel.
“They aren't allowed to mingle with other airline crews or hotel guests - they stay in their rooms until they operate the return flights.”
Justin Tighe-Umbers  says airline staff are doing a terrific job - in a difficult situation.
"There's a lot of fear on social media - but there's a very robust process in place from the Ministry of Health that airlines are following."
