John Goulter: New scheme will allow overseas students to study online at NZ universities
The education sector is hoping to get the ball rolling with international students, even while international borders remain closed.
A new scheme will allow people to start studying through our eight universities while they're still overseas.
Education New Zealand says the scheme will allow universities to keep recruiting international students, despite students not being allowed to travel here until 2022.
Spokesman John Goulter told Mike Hosking our country has earned a great reputation around the world.
"It's not possible for students to come here right now, but the goal is keeping New Zealand front of mind for people, for when they can travel again."
