Chris Quin: Foodstuffs NZ Managing Director on the rising price of groceries

The cost of food is still going up, but more slowly.\xa0

Stats NZ says in the year to August prices rose 8.9%, particularly eggs, yoghurt, and non-perishables like potato chips. \xa0

That's down from the 12.5% lift in April and June, but still historically high.\xa0

Foodstuffs NZ\xa0Managing Director, Chris Quin, told Mike Hosking that while it is increasing year on year, it\u2019s coming down month on month.\xa0

He said that they know customers need prices to fall again, and they hope that they can move past some of the weather events and shortages causing these prices.\xa0
