In an effort to meet the Government\u2019s cost cuts, indefinite restrictions have been placed on the recruiting of non-sworn staff.\xa0

The Police Association has said that the freeze on hiring backroom staff will trickle over and impact the front line.\xa0

Association President Chris Cahill told Mike Hosking that you have to be really careful.\xa0

Without the backroom staff there would be no one to answer emergency calls or sort administration.\xa0

There are some real pressure points, he said.\xa0
