Talk of the Town: Ratchet & Blues

R&B has always held a level of\xa0sophistication. Even the classic baby making songs carried a classiness\xa0about them that was lacking in other genres. Over the last 10 years, R&B has seen a decline in mainstream popularity. In an effort to\xa0re-brand\xa0R&B as current and edgy, a new crop of singers have emerged, seemingly distancing themselves from the\xa0traditional\xa0R&B sounds. More than the sound, the lyrics of these artists have become more blatant and in some instances down right crude. Tonight on Talk of the Town we take a look at the decline of R&B and what means to the next era of black music.
