In this episode we are talking about how to subtly reduce your children’s toys without them noticing. Often as parents we will impulse buy toys for our children because it’s rarely planned out, which can lead to a lot of clutter in the home. We talk about what we’ve done to organize and the things we tell our children, such as saying that we put those old toys in storage so it can put them at ease, when in reality we sent their old or unused toys to charity. There are many benefits to simplifying the toys that your children have, improving the quality of home life for everyone.

“We ended up going from hundreds of teddies down to now they each have a wicker basket of one in the bedroom each and they’ve got their favorites in there, and they don’t realize I’ve kept the favorites. They don’t realize that the others are gone. They don’t realize they even had any other ones because there’s so much in their little box, they’re not worried.” 18:46
