b'Heart failure is the most common reason people over age 65 are admitted to the hospital. Those who leave Upstate University Hospital with a diagnosis of heart failure receive a phone number, so they can reach a nurse 24 hours a day with any questions. The program, called Tele-Caring, is designed to help enhance the quality of life, reduce visits to the emergency department and minimize hospital stays, says Joey Michelle Angelina (right), a nurse manager in the hospital\'s triage and transfer center. She joins nurse Lorraine "Lorrie" Langdon (left), the heart failure program coordinator, in this interview that discusses the causes, methods of diagnosis and treatment for heart failure.
