\nToday\u2019s Nonprofit Career Month podcast guest is Krista\nKelley, Vice President of Development at Adelante Development\nCenter in Albuquerque, one of the largest nonprofits in New\nMexico. Adelante offers community-based services for people who are\nphysically or mentally disabled, who have chronic neuromuscular\ndiseases, and who are disabled simply due to the aging process.\n

\nKrista has designed and led Adelante\u2019s development department which\nhas included lobbying, government relations, media campaigns, capital\ncampaigns, direct mail campaigns, donor development, planned giving,\nin-kind donation programs, special events, private foundation, city,\nstate, and federal grants.\n

\nPrior to working for Adelante, Krista worked in both domestic and\ninternational business development and marketing and in business and\noperations analysis.\n

\nAmy Potthast talks with Krista about developing a new department at a\nnonprofit, the adjustment to working in a nonprofit after working in a\nbusiness, and the family-friendly potential of many nonprofits that\nvalue work-life balance for their staff members.\n
