It’s not every day that you’re in the company of someone who’s a national treasure, truly one of the most inspirational people you’ve ever met and a blinding ray of light. Bebe Vio is that person. She’s my new idol.

For those who haven’t heard of her, Bebe is the European Fencing Champion, the World Fencing Champion and the Paralympic Fencing Champion. She’s also the only fencer in the world to fight without any arms or legs.

The way she talks about her quadruple amputation and her disability is not just empowering, but it’s also full of happiness and will make you howl with laughter. She really is an actual superhero and her outlook on life is something I think all my gurls will benefit from. To quote Bebe, “To make us happy, we just have to make everyone happy”.
