Dan Smoot is one of the most remarkable media figures of the mid-twentieth century. He would have been a very popular "influencer" had he been around today. His Dan Smoot Report, both print and television, was just fantastic. In 1964, he urged the United States to "avoid war." Much of what he said is still applicable today.
