Should be blame Andrew Jackson for the expansion of "democracy" in the  19th century? It certainly caused problems, but we shouldn\'t jettison  the proliferation of elected public offices at the local level. This is  an opportunity to embrace "think locally, act locally" and change the  political landscape.
