Rejections

One of the reasons Mark wrote his Gospel was to help strengthen Christians who were facing opposition and rejection. In Mark 15:1-15 we learn that because the world rejected Jesus, we should not be surprised or shocked when the world rejects us as well. In these verses we learn about three kinds of rejection — religious, political, and popular — that Jesus experienced on His way to the cross. Those who are serious about following Jesus will also face one or more of these forms of rejection as they seek to be faithful in a hostile world.
