IU-Penn State Postgame Show: The Race Thompson Breakout Tour Continues

Published: Feb. 23, 2020, 8:50 p.m.

On Sunday afternoon, Indiana defeated Penn State to earn its third win in the last four games. The Hoosiers led by as many as 19 points early, then fell behind by six in the second half, before reasserting control and making winning plays down the stretch. It was yet another breakout performance by Race Thompson.

After the game, our crew broke it all down on The Assembly Call IU Postgame Show.

On the mics: Jerod, Coach, and Ryan

Among the topics discussed:

— The massive plays by Race and Jerome once Indiana fell behind by six in the second half.
— Why this was one of the most impressive outings of the season from Trayce, even if his numbers weren't particularly efficient.
— The big bounceback performance by IU's guards.
— Why on earth does Joey Brunk continue to start games and second halves?
— The huge closing plays made by Justin Smith down the stretch.
— Why Archie Miller deserves a ton of credit for getting this season turned back around.

We also point out a few meaningful moments you may have missed, go inside the numbers, and hand out our game balls. All of that, and more, on this edition of The Assembly Call.
