IU-Michigan State Postgame Show: Hoosiers Hang On For Third Straight Victory Over Michigan State

Published: Jan. 24, 2020, 5:36 a.m.

On Thursday night, in front of a raucous Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall crowd, Indiana stayed committed to playing through the post on offense while harassing Cassius Winston on defense. It culminated in yet another close victory in which the ball was in Winston's hands at the end but the Hoosiers made the final big play defensively.

After the game, our crew broke it all down on The Assembly Call IU Postgame Show.

On the mics: Jerod, Ryan, and Andy

Among the topics discussed:

— Joey Brunk's key late rebounds and his importance as the anchor of the offense.
— Another impressive performance from Trayce Jackson-Davis, especially given the skill of the defenders he was facing.
— The essential timeliness of Armaan Franklin's buckets.
— A slew of coaching moves by Archie Miller that put his team in position to win (and one that we questioned).
— The importance of Race Thompson's first half impact.
— Al Durham and Rob Phinisee weren't great, but did what was necessary to lead Indiana to victory.

We also point out a few meaningful moments you may have missed, go inside the numbers, and hand out our game balls. All of that, and more, on this edition of The Assembly Call.
