[418] How Evan Fitzners Strengths (and Weaknesses) Will Fit on This IU Roster

b"This week on The Assembly Call, we continue our offseason player-by-player breakdown series by focusing on grad transfer Evan Fitzner and how the things he does well (and the things he doesn't) will fit on this year's IU roster.

On the mics this week: Jerod, Andy, and Coach Tonsoni.

In Segment One (00:27), Jerod discusses the big picture meaning of the IU Excellence Academy in his Banner Moment, followed by Andy and Coach give their opening thoughts. Then the guys discuss recruiting, including the new offers going out to 2020 and 2021 prospects, and what they mean for Indiana's potential pursuit of in-state prospects Anthony Leal and Trey Galloway.

In Segment Two (16:03), the guys dive into their discussion of Evan Fitzner. They dissect his strengths and weaknesses based on his advanced efficiency stats and possession-by-possession analysis from Synergy. They also talk about his role at Saint Mary's and why it may have changed after his freshman year.

In Segment Three (27:58), the conversation on Fitzner turns to how he fits with the players on IU's roster. What roster constructions will work best to accentuate his strengths and compensate for his weaknesses? Why are he and Al Durham a particularly strong fit in the same lineups? Jerod ends the segment by reminding us how good Max Bielfeldt's numbers were in 2016, and why it is probably be unfair to expect the same kind of impact from Fitzner.

Then in Segment Four (44:23), we only get to one question ... because it gets Coach going on an epic rant. Ben Malcomson from Hoosiers-United asks us what we would change about Hoosier Hysteria to encourage more fan engagement. Oh -- we have some ideas. :-)

All of that and more on this week's edition of Assembly Call Radio."
