Mark McKinnon talks his journey from sports to acting, Howard University, the BET Her film \u201cThe Waiting Room\u201d, and his new film "The Available Wife"!\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0\nAbout Mark McKinnon:\nMark McKinnon is an American actor originally from Waldorf, MD. Known for playing the role of Derik Dubois in BET Her Presents: The Waiting Room (2019). Other credits include recurring roles in Blue Bloods (2010) and FBI (2018). In High School, sports were McKinnon's world. Despite being a multi-sport athlete (Football, Basketball, Cross Country), McKinnon still found time to pursue the arts. He originally dreamed of becoming a professional football player. However, after landing a lead role in his high school play, he was inspired to pursue a professional acting career. In fact, to pursue this dream, he turned down several football scholarships and attended the prestigious Howard University in Washington, DC to study Theatre Arts with a concentration in Acting.
