Countess Countless (Sword of Symphonies, Episode Fourteen)
Four hundred years ago, in a fishing village just out of reach of the jungle, a creature came in a woman's guise, to demand tribute with sweet words in a resonant voice. The villagers, unable to keep up with her demands, presented her with a jeweled knife.
Even when the knife had been buried in her chest, its gold surface veiled by shredded silk, it shone in the moonlight.
The villagers thought this was the end.
