Let's try this again....

A few of you downloaded the first attempt at releasing this podcast which consisted of intro music, 19 minutes of dead air, then closing music. \xa0I wish I could blame that on my technical issues over the last few weeks but I can't. \xa0I just screwed up.

You see, I blew up my computer while trying to upgrade it a couple of weeks ago and lost all the data on my hard drive because I didn't have a good backup plan in place.

So how does this relate to divorce?

There are few things that you need to do right now. \xa0Don't\xa0procrastinate\xa0or you can create major headaches for yourself or your loved ones.
Update Your Will
You need to update your will or make one if you don't have one.
Update Beneficiaries On Life Insurance and Retirement Accounts
If you just used the standard beneficiary order when signing up this may take care of itself, but you really need to check.
Untangle Your Finances
Make sure your ex is removed from all bank accounts, real estate, autos, and anything else you held jointly.
Get Your Own Health Insurance
Finally get your own health/life insurance. \xa0It is very reasonable for high deductible \xa0health insurance that may keep you out of bankruptcy should you face a catastrophic medical bill.
