Called by God

Forbes magazine recently blared in the headlines, “Unhappy Employees Outnumber Happy Ones by Two to One Worldwide.” Far too many people, Christians included, wish their whole week away living only for the weekends. Isn’t there a better approach than dreading Monday? It is time for us to begin to dwell on the truth that God knows what he is doing. He has uniquely placed each of us in specific callings here New York City to serve our neighbor and give him glory. Working in a factory, cleaning homes, changing diapers, being a garbage man, preaching the gospel, writing songs – they all have one thing in common: they are God-given callings that are honorable and important. But this has application way beyond work place fatigue. In every area of our lives, God has placed us right where he wants us whether we are at home, at work, or at play.
