He said to the woman, \u2018Did God really say, \u2018You must not eat from any tree in the garden\u2019?\u2019\u201d Genesis 3:1\n\nTruth: God is a compassionate Father \n\nEvery good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. John 1:17\n\nTake delight in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4\n\nCommand those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant\nnor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in \nGod, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. 1 Timothy 6:17\n\nSince God did not spare even His own Son but gave Him up for us all, won\u2019t God, who gave us Christ, also give us everything else? Romans 8:32 (NLT)\n\nMyth 2: God is unreliable\n\n\u201cWe may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but He did say, \u2018You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.\u2019\u201d\n\u201cYou will not certainly die\u2026, 5 \u201cFor God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.\u201d Genesis 3:2-5\n\nTruth: God is a consistent Father\n\nGod is not human, that He should lie, not a human being, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill? Numbers 23:19:\n\nThe steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; 23they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23\n\nMyth 3: God is unconcerned\n\nTruth: God is a caring Father\n\n\u201cYou can buy two sparrows for only a copper coin, yet not even one sparrow falls from its nest without the knowledge of your Father. Aren\u2019t you worth much more to God than many sparrows? 30\u201331 So don\u2019t worry. For your Father cares deeply about even the smallest detail of your life.\u201d Matthew 10:29-31(Msg)\n\n\u201cIf anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him,\nand we will come to him and make our home with him.\u201d John 14:23\n\nMyth 4: God is Unpleasable\n\nTruth: God\u2019s a gracious Father\n\n\u201c\u2026because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions\u2014it is by grace you have been saved. 6And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7in order that in the coming ages He might show the incomparable riches of His grace, expressed in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith\u2014and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God\u20149not by works, so that no one can boast.
