b'Proverbs WisdomRich Man, Poor Man, Beggar, Thief: Proverbs 21:5-7June 15, 2014Michael’s Personal Goal: To loosen my grip on what God has entrusted to me believing that He is the source of all blessing (ref. Eccl. 10:19; Proverbs 22:1; 16:16)17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.18 With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity.19 My fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver.20 I walk in the way of righteousness, along the paths of justice,21 bestowing a rich inheritance on those who love meand making their treasuries full. Proverbs 8:17Three Ways to Gain wealth (ref. Eph.4:28): 1.You can steal it (Literally (see Proverbs 21:5-7), but includes lack of charity and laziness) Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD,and He will reward them for what they have done. Proverbs 19:17As vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes,so are sluggards to those who send them. Proverbs 10:26 (also see 26:16)App: To steal no more includes stewardship and ambition2.You can work for itLazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth. Proverbs 10:4 (also see 12:11; 14:23; 6:6-11)Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Colossians 3:23-24App: Do what you do as unto the Lord3.You can give it away (God’s work + benevolence)24 One person gives freely, yet gains even more;another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.25A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. 26People curse the one who hoards grain, but they pray God’s blessing on the one who is willing to sell. Proverbs 11:24-26 (also see 3:27-28; 19:17; 22:9; 3:9-10; Matt 6:19-20) App: “Give, and it will be given to you.” (see Luke 6:38) What is God’s Spirit speaking into your life today?
