Holy Spirit \nHoly Spirit Empower \nJuly 9, 2017\n\nPlease turn in your Bible to Acts 1:4-5, 8\n\nDo you believe in the power of the Holy Spirit? \n\n\u201cOn one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: \u201cDo not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. 5 For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.\u201d\nV 8: \u201cBut you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.\u201d\nActs 1:4-5, 8\n\nPower (Grk: doo-nam-is): a force or miracle working capacity. \n\nHOLY SPIRIT GIVES YOU POWER TO\u2026\n\n1: Blaze with the good news \n\n\u201cMy message and my preaching were not with wise and \npersuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, 5so that \nyour faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.\u201d 1 Corinthians 2:4-5\n\n26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. Romans 8:26\n\n2: Boast about personal weakness\n\n"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me...
