Psalm 112:5a\n\n\u201cThe generous will themselves be blessed\u2026\u201d Proverbs 22:9a:\n\n2: God promises the children of the generous will be blessed\n\n\u201cThe righteous\u2026are always generous\u2026; their children will be a blessing.\u201d\nPsalm 37:25b-26b\n\n3: God promises to bless the work and business of the generous\n\n\u201cHonor the LORD with your wealth, with the first-fruits of all your crops; 10 Then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.\u201d \nProverbs 3:9\n\nGive freely and spontaneously. Don\u2019t have a stingy heart. The way you handle matters like this triggers GOD, your God\u2019s, blessing in everything you do, all your work and ventures.\nDeuteronomy 15:10 Msg\n\n4: God promises that generosity is on the path to greater happiness\n\n\u201cI have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: \u2018It is more blessed to give than to receive.\u2019\u201d Acts 20:35\n\n\u201cI tell you the truth, this poor widow has given more than \nall the others who are making contributions.\u201d Mark 12:41\n\n5: God promises generosity increases influence\n\n"The world of the generous, gets larger and larger. The world \nof the stingy, gets smaller and smaller." Proverbs 11:24 Msg\n\n6: God promises that as I give I end up with more\n\n\u201cGive, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.\u201d Luke 6:38\n\n\u201cOne person gives freely, yet gains even more; another \nwithholds unduly, but comes to poverty.\u201d Proverbs 11:24\n\n7: God promises when I\u2019m generous, He meets all my needs\n\n\u201cThose who give to the poor will lack nothing\u2026\u201d Proverbs 28:27a\n\n\u201cEach of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.\u201d 2 Corinthians 9:7-8\n\n8: God promises to multiply what I give Him\n\n9: God promises that my giving is stored up in heaven\n\n\u201cCommand them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. 19 In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.\u201d 1Timothy 6:18-19\n\nPractical thoughts\n\nFirst: we practice \u201cstorehouse tithing\u201d\n\n\u201cWill a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me. \u201cBut you ask, \u2018How are we robbing you?\u2019 In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse\u2014your whole nation\u2014because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,\u201d says the LORD Almighty, \u201cand see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. 11 I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,\u201d says the LORD Almighty.
