Labor Day\nCounting the Days\nSeptember 3, 2017\n\nPlease turn in your Bibles to Psalm 90 \n\n\u201cThis book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.\u201d \nJoshua 1:8 (KJV)\n\n\u201csaw-kel\u201d (sakal): translates \u201csuccess\u201d (1x), \n\u201cunderstand\u201d, or \u201cunderstanding\u201d (17x), \u201cwise\u201d or \u201cwisely\u201d (18x)\n\nBiblical success is more about what we are becoming\n\n10\tThe length of our days is seventy years\u2014or eighty, if we have the strength;\nyet their span is but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.\n\n12Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.\nPsalm 90:10, 12\n\n\u201cTeach us to make the most of our time, \nso that we may grow in wisdom.\u201d Psalm 90:12 NLT\n\nNEW MATH: making our days count\n\n1. Add (+): count your blessings \n\nApp: before you go to sleep write down three things from your day for which you are grateful\n\nLet them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love \nand His wonderful deeds for men. Psalm 107:31\n \n2. Subtract (-): minus your regrets\n\nApp: practice, \u201cI\u2019m sorry. Will you please forgive me?\u201d\n\n \u201cThen I acknowledged my sin to You \nand did not cover up my iniquity.\nI said, \u201cI will confess my transgressions \nto the LORD\u201d\u2014\nand you forgave \nthe guilt of my sin. Psalm 32:5\n\n3. Divide (\xf7): break sorrows into parts\n\nApp: 1 burden shared = \xbd burden \n\n\u201cIf one part suffers, every part suffers with it\u2026\u201d \n1Corinthians 12:26\n\n\u201cBear one another\u2019s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.\u201d\nGalatians 6:2\n\nLove the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: \u2018Love your neighbor as yourself.
