60 Seconds: Practical Tip For Practice Of Freedom.

Published: Oct. 15, 2020, 10 a.m.

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.

What’s the opposite of feeling trapped? Feeling free. What makes us feel trapped? Job, partner, obligations,  maybe even our mind, our story. What else? Time. Not enough time, too little time, besieged by the notion of time.

What’s the solution?

Practical Tip

  • First, see traps for what they are: constructs, stories, situations, events, maybe even opportunities.
  • Next, consider this simple equation: pain + resistance = suffering.  Of course, pain is here to stay; but when we lessen resistance, we lessen suffering.
  • How do we do that? It’s a practice of freedom of mind which I can say I have to practice again and again like sets of waves in the ocean.
  • What’s the payoff? When we let go of our present worries, past regrets, and future anxieties we become free to see the elegant solutions available to us. And that includes peace of mind.

This is the place to thrive together.
