Welcome to Stories Come to Life. I am your host, Kathryn Lopez Luker. Today’s story is the second and final part of one of my favorite tales of all time! The 13 Clocks, was written by James Thurber. The wicked Duke is in his castle, slashing his sword at silence, and at nothing. Hark, the spy, is chewing something at the oak table, and they are waiting for the Prince to bring back a thousand jewels in order to win the hand of the Princess Saralinda. The terms won’t be met, though, until the thirteen castle clocks strike five!

Now sit back, relax, and listen to this story come to life!
