Episode Summary
It has been a year!!! 2021 taught us so many things. In this episode, Dr. Toshia and Dr. DeYonne Parker, from the Beyond Brillant Network talked about all things the year has brought them.
We started the year with the capital uprising (insurrection) and ended it with Omicron. This year we saw Kamala Harris sworn in as the first woman of color to the Vice Presidency. We saw Simone Biles and Naomi Osaka take care of themselves despite what others had to say about it. We saw DEI explode but in a good way. Companies, well some of them anyway, came to know that its not window dressing that we want. Real change is the order of the day. Black and other women of color seized the day, started their own companies, took control of their lives, both personally and professionally and did the damn thing!!! I am proud of us!!!
We have suffered profound losses and had the highest of successes. All in all, we made it!!
Now we move forward with all the lessons learned, points of bravery embraced, and in all our beautiful excellence to 2022.
