Wynn Thomas - First African American Production Designer - Do The Right Thing, Malcolm X, Mars Attacks, Cinderella Man, and Hidden Figures

Wynn\xa0is the first African American Production Designer in the history of films. \xa0

As assistant art director, he worked with Production Designer\xa0Richard Sylbert\xa0on\xa0The Cotton Club. He also art directed or assisted like\xa0Beat Street,\xa0The Money Pit, and\xa0Brighton Beach Memoirs.\xa0

Wynn has a long-term relationship with Spike Lee and has designed over ten films for him including\xa0She's Gotta Have It,\xa0Do The Right Thing,\xa0Malcolm X,\xa0Crooklyn, and\xa0Inside Man.

Wynn is the first African-American Production Designer to become a member of the\xa0Art Directors Guild\xa0and the first African American nominated for the\xa0Art Directors Guild Award\xa0for his design work on\xa0Tim Burton's\xa0film,\xa0Mars Attacks!.

Some of\xa0Wynn's\xa0production design work over the years includes\xa0A Beautiful Mind\xa0and\xa0Cinderella Man\xa0for\xa0Ron Howard,\xa0A Bronx Tale\xa0for\xa0Robert DeNiro,\xa0Wag The Dog,\xa0Keeping The Faith,\xa0All Good Things, and\xa0Breach.

More recently,\xa0Wynn\xa0worked on\xa0Almost Christmas, the\xa0Oscar\xa0nominated\xa0Hidden Figures, and\xa0War on Everyone.
