Sturla\xa0was born in Trondheim, Norway, and attended the\xa0Bergen Academy of Art and Design\xa0in Norway and then\xa0The National Film School of Denmark\xa0in Copenhagen, where he lives and works.

Sturla\u2019s\xa0most notable past projects include the single-take thriller\xa0Victoria, for which he received the\xa0Silver Bear\xa0at\xa0Berlinale.\xa0 He then won the Silver Frog at Camerimage\xa0for\xa0Rams, a film stylistically opposite to\xa0Victoria and worked on the acclaimed Before The Frost, for Michael Noer.\xa0

Sturla\xa0recently worked with\xa0Benh Zeitlin on Wendy,\xa0Josephine Decker\xa0for\xa0Shirley, J\xf3hann J\xf3hannsson on Last And First Men and\xa0Another Round\xa0directed by\xa0Thomas Vinterberg.
