Sam also teaches at the University of San Francisco and the San Francisco Art Institute.

Recently, Sam has co-created Utopia in Four Movements, which uses the collective experience of cinema to explore the battered state of the\xa0utopian impulse at the dawn of the twenty-first century, in a singular, poetic essay that stretches the very norms of the nonfiction genre and\xa0musical performance.
