Mike started out directing music videos for such bands as Pretty Girls Make Graves, The\xa0Blood Brothers, and The Cave Singers.\xa0
\nMike\xa0 made his first feature film, Analog Days about young adults in the small town of\xa0Newhall, CA, 30 miles north of Los Angeles, and the documentary, Kid Icarus, about a\xa0young man, Leigh Harkrider, that lives in a trailer park on the outskirts of Los Angeles, where\xa0with an obsession for Steven Spielberg, who sets out to make his cinematic debut with\xa0limited knowledge of what it takes to make a great film.
\nMike's\xa0\xa0more recent feature film, Littlerock is a drama that examines culture shock, the\xa0universal yearning for connection, and the impact of history on ordinary people in the\xa0tale of Atsuko and Rintaro, Japanese siblings who come to California to visit a World War\xa0II-era internment camp. \xa0
\nLittlerock is followed up by the feature film, Pearblossom Hwy, co-written and\xa0starring Atsuko Okatsuka of\xa0 Littlerock\xa0\xa0and also starring Cory Zacharia from\xa0 Littlerock\xa0and\xa0 Kid Icarus.
\nMike\xa0currently teaches film directing at the University of Southern California.
