Mark White - Production Designer on Please Give and Winter's Bone

Mark White, an American production designer, began his career as a Toy Designer before moving into Theatre Design. He shifted gears into film as Set Designer on Twenty-Nine Palms and then as Art Director on Boiler Room.\xa0

As Production Designer, Mark\u2019s credits include: Wet Hot American Summer, The Baxter, The Ten, Tully and the Comedy Central\xa0series, Stella.\xa0

He also was production designer for Morgan J. Freeman\u2019s film, Homecoming, and the film Transamerica, featuring the\xa0Oscar-nominated actress, Felicity Huffman.

Mark was recently the production designer on two major independent films, Please Give and Winter's Bone.

\n

Please Give is directed and written by Nicole Holofcener, a perceptive and darkly comedic take on modern life\u2019s contradictions, good intentions, and shaky moral bearings, starring Catherine Keener and Oliver Platt.

\n

Winter\u2019s Bone is written and directed by Debra Granik is about 17 year old Ree Dolly who sets out to track down her missing father, who has put their house up for his bail bond, which will lead to the family\u2019s eviction if he can\u2019t be found. Winter\u2019s Bone won the Best Picture Grand Jury Prize at Sundance.
