Kim Sinclair - Oscar winning Art Director and Production Designer from New Zealand - Cast Away, The Last Samurai, Avatar, Adventures of Tintin, Man of Steel, The Dark Horse, and Slow West

Overseas,\xa0Kim\xa0has often worked largely with local crews, working in South Pacific Fiji on Cast Away, Legend of Zorro\xa0in Mexico, and Beyond Borders\xa0in Thailand.\xa0Kim\xa0also created the look of a Japanese village for The Last Samurai, actually built in a valley near New Plymouth.\xa0

In 2010,\xa0Kim\xa0was one of three art department heads to win both an Oscar\xa0and a BAFTA\xa0for their work on Avatar.\xa0Kim\xa0also worked on Under the Mountain, headed\xa0the design team on The Adventures of Tintin.\xa0

Kim\xa0was one of the supervising art directors on the North American shoot of Man of Steel\xa0and was a visual effects art director on Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.\xa0

Kim\xa0was more recently the production designer of acclaimed New Zealand drama, The Dark Horse, and the Sundance Jury Prize\xa0winning action western film, Slow West.
