Originally trained as a painter, Jason Carpenter has an expressive, organic style with a focus on light and shadow.\xa0

Jason received an MFA from Calarts in Experimental Animation, where he further developed his story and filmmaking skills.\xa0

\n

When he's not working on his own animated projects, Jason collaborates with his brother Michael as half of Carpenter Bros. Animation.\xa0

\n

Together they direct art and animation for commercials, tv shows, theme parks, and museum exhibits.

\n

One of Jason's personal animated projects, is the Annie nominated short film, The Renter. The Renter is based on a true story and follows\xa0the journey of a young boy who is cared for by an elderly woman during the day. \xa0
