Guy Davidi - Israeli Documentary Filmmaker - Revisiting 5 Broken Cameras

Guy\xa0was born in Jaffa and has directed, edited, and shot films since the age of 16.\xa0 As a cameraman,\xa0Guy\xa0shot several films for\xa0France 3 Television.\xa0

Guy\xa0also directed many short documentaries such as\xa0In Working Progress,Women Defying Barriers,\xa0Keywords\xa0presented in film festivals and venues worldwide. Guy's\xa0first feature film\xa0Interrupted Streams\xa0premiered in the\xa0Jerusalem International Film Festival.

In light of recent events, we revisit\xa0Guy's\xa0documentary, the Oscar nominated\xa05 Broken Cameras, a collaboration with\xa0Emad Burnat, a Palestinian villager, who gets his first camera. In his village, Bil'in, a separation barrier is being built and the villagers start to resist.

\n

For more than five years,\xa0Emad\xa0filmed the struggle, led by two of his best friends, while also filming his growing son Gibreel and the conflict\u2019s effect on him and other family members.\xa0\xa0 One Camera after another is shot or smashed, and each camera tells a part of his story.
