Daniel Kamil and Emily Steffian have owned and operated the the Cable Car Cinema and Caf\xe9 in Providence, Rhode Island since 2008. \xa0Previously, they started The Revival House Cinema and Cafe, a fifty-seat digital theater in Westerly Rhode Island that helped reinvigorate an under utilized downtown.\xa0
\nDaniel and Emily spoke with us about the about the current state of the independent cinema business based on their own experiences over the years.
\nIn March 2013, the Cable Car launched a Kickstarter Campaign to assist them in the transition to digital projection, which all independent cinemas are required to do to stay in operation.
