166. The Four Noble Truths

The Four Noble Truths of Buddhism are:

1. Suffering is real 

\n

2. Suffering has a cause

\n

3. Suffering can end

\n

4. There is a path out of suffering

\n

Renee talks about addiction as a trauma response and as an attempt to escape suffering. But addiction actually becomes a source of suffering itself. Ironically, the solutions to our pain, fear and anger are often found withing the suffering itself.
