We are children of the Universe. God, Goddess, the Divine is our spiritual parent. We have human parents. We include our spiritual perspectives in parenting our own children and others in our lives that we care for. We also have an internalized parent, that may be healthy and loving or critical and destructive, depending on how we treat ourselves. These are all aspects of spiritual parenting, stewardship of the soul. 

Our relationships with God, with ourselves and others create the fabric of our lives. We are spiritual caregivers, and care receivers, in all of these areas, whether we are conscious of it or not. The quality of what we give and receive has much to do with the quality of our life experience as a whole.
