Compulsion\xa0is a 1959 American\xa0crime\xa0drama film\xa0directed by\xa0Richard Fleischer. The film is based on the 1956\xa0novel of the same name\xa0by\xa0Meyer Levin, which in turn was a fictionalized account of the\xa0Leopold and Loeb\xa0murder trial. It was the first film produced by\xa0Richard D. Zanuck.

Although the principal roles are played by\xa0Dean Stockwell\xa0and\xa0Bradford Dillman, top billing went to\xa0Orson Welles.
