Because countries are not people, it\u2019s tricky to translate whatever \u201cloving one\u2019s country\u201d means\u2014it\u2019s quite abstract\u2014into the language of heartbreak. It sounds melodramatic. What can heartbreak mean as a civic matter? And yet it is what I feel. A corrupt but weak president\u2014this has been my comfort, his weakness\u2014has been given a gift that will make him strong.
