To the outside world, Darren and Leanne McKie had it all. Three gorgeous children under the age of ten, a happy marriage of 13 years and respected careers with Greater Manchester Police. 

Friends described them as a lovely, genuine couple who had the perfect family.

But, as we know all too well on this show, appearances can be deceiving. Behind this façade of middle-class comfort, lay a mountain of spiralling debt, so severe that just 11 days after moving in to their dream family home in September 2017, Leanne would lie dead on the kitchen floor.
