We’re working on a better process for securely accessing our Gmail or Google account. We’ve got 2-step verification with our phone. That works great, but now we have a new problem. What happens when we lose our phone? How do we access our Gmail?

Setting Up 2-Step Verification

1. Go to the Google Security Settings

2. Turn on “2-step verification”

3. Enter your password

Chose & configure your 2nd step verification option

1. Verification Options

2. Get codes via text message

3. Get codes by phone call

4. Use the Google Authenticator App - You can use this even if you are offline

5. Use a security key - Yubikey

6. Add a backup phone number

7. Create backup codes

8. Register a trusted device
