The Role of Integrative Medicine
in Clinics and Hospitals in Clinics and Hospitals Integrative Medicine is growing in popularity with both doctors and patients, but its role within Clinics such as S'eclairer and hospitals such as Allegheny General Hospital is still being defined. New science, and the awareness of that science within bureaucracies are critical to defining how and when Integrative practices are best used. Dr. O'Neill will discuss how those guidelines are evolving in hospital settings, and how smaller clinics and hospital systems can work together for optimal patient health.
Betsy Blazek-O'Neill, MD is a Staff Physician with the Integrative Medicine Program at Allegheny General Hospital and with the Allegheny Health Network. According to an article recently in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Dr. O'Neill "is one of the few physicians in the area who readily recognizes the health impacts of stress, and uses that knowledge to help patients manage it."
