However, as the Bible makes clear, that notion is far from the truth. Life is in fact a battleground. As Christian teacher Adrian Rogers said, "You are in a battle\u2014a battle for your soul, a battle for your family, a battle for your community\u2014and you cannot be neutral."\n\n\nEach day, we face an Enemy who seeks to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). We are engaged in a very real spiritual battle against the forces of evil and darkness in this fallen world. If we are not vigilant and prepared, we will be caught off guard and overcome.\n\n\nThankfully, God does not leave us defenseless. In Ephesians 6, Paul describes the armor God provides to help us stand firm:\n\n\nThe belt of truth\n\nThe breastplate of righteousness\n\nFeet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace\n\nThe shield of faith\n\nThe helmet of salvation\n\nThe sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God\n\nWhen we put on the full armor of God through prayer and living by His Word, we are equipped to face the Enemy's attacks. We can stand our ground, not in our own strength, but in the mighty power of God.\n\n\nLife is indeed a battleground, not a playground. But in Christ, we have everything we need to withstand the evil day and emerge victorious. So suit up, soldier! Take your stand on the unshakable promises of God's Word.
