As children of God, we have the incredible privilege of being led by His Holy Spirit. When we accept Christ, the Spirit comes to dwell within us, to guide, convict, and shape us into the image of Jesus.\n\nYet this guiding is gentle, not forceful. As Adrian Rogers says, \u201cThe Holy Spirit leads you but He never drives you.\u201d He points us to truth, but doesn\u2019t push. He convicts us of sin, but doesn\u2019t condemn. As Lucado notes, \u201cThe Spirit bids the bumblebee come to the flower but does not drag it there.\u201d We must listen and cooperate with His leading.\n\nAs one pastor points out, \u201cA stride forward by the Spirit may take you down trails you never dreamed you could travel and toward joys you never thought possible.\u201d When we let the Spirit guide, remarkable things happen. But we must take those steps, prompted by His still small voice.\n\nThis manifests daily when we choose prayer over worry, patience over anger, and love over selfishness. We know and grow through listening to the Spirit. Yet sometimes we ignore or dismiss His voice. We let busyness, laziness, or stubbornness crowd out time for the Spirit.\n\nLet us have ears to hear.\n\nWe all need more of the Spirit\u2019s guidance. When faced with decisions, let\u2019s pray first. When convicted of sin, let\u2019s repent. When prompted toward action, let\u2019s obey. As we stay in step with the Spirit, He will lead us to life and purpose beyond our wildest dreams.
