In today's episode of Rolling Home we talk about the various YouTube channels I watch regularly and how they have helped enhance my Class B and RV travel experiences. Yes, TV isn't what it used to be because today you don't have to just watch "what's on" but can learn and grow and discover something new and skills that help you in everyday life on platforms like YouTube. #vanlife #ClassB #travel #Winnebago #Travato #campervan #YouTube #Podcast #TV #nomad

TV isn’t what isn’t used to be.

When I was a child I couldn't wait to watch Saturday morning cartoons and the latest episodes of Batman. As a young person, I watched Mannix, Gunsmoke, and the Red Shelton Variety Show regularly with my grandparents and parents.

Even the news with Walter Cronkite was a major event most days with the newsman's famous ending phrase, "Well, that's the way it is!"And I'll never forget the night in July 1969 when our family sat in front of our TV and watched flickering images of a man walking on the moon. It was also a very special occasion for my 9th birthday!

Well, as we all know TV ain't what it used to be, and definitely isn't your grandfather's – or even your father's – TV anymore. To illustrate, recently while my wife was away I decided that I would watch a good movie – something that I don't often do – for a few leisurely hours. After 10-15 minutes later of pursuing a plethora of movie channels and other offerings, I settled in waiting for an old Jerry Lewis movie.

Today, my TV watching habits look nothing like it did in previous years, as I find myself many nights watching YouTube channels about a variety of topics and destinations that interest me. And for a number of years I have been following various van dwellers, nomads, off-grid enthusiasts, and others who have chosen – or been forced into – a very different lifestyle than my own.
