b'Welcome to This Edition of RiversZen Today for Tuesday, October 30th, 2018

The news of the day: What do you look for in a class? Do you want it to be relaxing or meditative? Do you want it to allow you to survey your body and teach you something? Do you want it to kick your butt and make your muscles ache tomorrow leaving a lasting memory of the class? Do you want an opportunity to close your eyes and just mindlessly follow the instructor? To a certain extent any of those options are available to you from just about any instructor. Our philosophy is based on the simple belief that you know your body better than we do. When you come to class you have an intention on what you want to accomplish. If you want to be meditative you can accomplish that by being very slow and deliberate in your motions and matching your motion with your breath. If you want a lasting memory of the class, you can accomplish that by making sure you contract and hold each pose while going to the end of your range of motion. Maybe adding more reps and pulsing at the end range. Maybe going deeper into a squat or whatever the pose being instructed. You are in charge of the end result. You can make it such that each time you go to the same class you go with a different intention. Feel free to match it to whatever your day needs. If it has been stressful and harried, allow a more meditative intention prevail . . . or put all the stress behind you by giving it all you’ve got.

Please share on Facebook at our RiversZen Online Community what you look for in a class. Don’t forget, Barbie is still looking for your input for the drawing. Post your selfies with Barbie on our Facebook page or tag us in your post and don’t forget to suggest a few new names for Barbie. Entries are due in by the end of October . . . that’s tomorrow. The drawing will allow the winner to choose from an assessment, a resistance stretch or a 10 class package. As always, you can also email your questions or comments to info@riverszen.com or text or call 503-440-3554.
