The news of the day: This week we have been focusing on body parts which have pretty much been ignored or abused generally not intentionally. I\\u2019m sure you have identified a few of your issues over the course of the week. We have used Barbie as an example. We have shared some of her body blind spots which is strange, as she was designed by toy professionals to be perfect and her design is not. Unlike Barbie, we can do something to improve our body\\u2019s range of motion and strength. We can fix our body blind spots. The goal for all of us is to identify those body parts and begin the process of bringing them back to life. That can be accomplished through a variety stretches, either self-stretches or assisted stretches. You can activate tissue by self-massage by using therapy balls. The balls can calm angry nerve endings or activate sleeping ones. You can use voodoo floss to release the tissue. You can potentially reduce your pain threshold by increasing your hydration as they have found a connection between hydration and neurotransmission. There are many ways to reconnect with your body. The key is being user-friendly and finding ease through the process. The current contest we have with Barbie as our focus will allow you to generate entries for an opportunity to win an assessment, a one on one assisted stretch or a 10 class package. If you have never been stretched before, it could be an easy way to find out if it is an alternative for you.

When you see Barbie at either of our studios, take a selfie with her and post it to RiversZen\\u2019s Facebook page or tag us in a post to your page. Feel free to be creative. We are also helping Barbie change her name. Post or email or text your new name suggestions and you will generate another entry into the contest. Entries will be accumulated through the end of the month. Kind of an easy, fun way to find more information about your body and connect with those body blind spots.
